Dennis Vojtilla has been growing bonsai for more than 40 years. His interest in trees was inspired by the great hardwood forests and parks of his youth in western Pennsylvania, which is reflected in a more naturalistic style, with lots of twigs. Having grown a wide variety of trees, he now concentrates on deciduous species, and is particularly fond of flowering and fruiting trees. His latest endeavor is creating high-quality Oregon Pinot Noir bonsai from vines in his own vineyard.
In 2016, Dennis' European White Birch won the Finest Deciduous Bonsai award at the 5th US National Bonsai Exhibition in Rochester, New York.
Dennis will utilize his own Oregon Pinot Noir grapes for his Friday morning workshop.
