Friday 9/14/18, 8am-12:00pm
Offsite Tour, 20 Participants, $45
Michael Hagedorn opens his garden for a guided tour and offers seasonal tips on tree management, using examples from trees featured on his blog crataegus.com. In a studio setting that mirrors the urban bonsai nurseries of Japan, trees in many stages of development range from traditional species like Black Pine and Chojubai Quince to Northwest natives like Mountain Hemlock and Vine maple. The tour will compare and contrast techniques for trees native to both sides of the Pacific. Meet in the lobby of the Milwaukie Center a 8:00am. Expect to have about three hours in the garden and return to the Center around noon.
If demand for this tour is sufficient, a second tour will be scheduled for Friday afternoon, and registrants will be given the choice of times.
